How to Choose an ERPNext Partner in the US (2026 Buyer's Guide)

At a glance
Searching for the best ERPNext partner mostly surfaces self-ranked listicles, leaving US buyers who have chosen ERPNext without a neutral comparison. This guide, written openly by ERPNova as a contender, lays out verifiable evaluation criteria rather than rankings. It explains Frappe partner tiers, surveys who is actually US-based, and names the questions and red flags that predict implementation success.
What do Frappe partner tiers (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Emerging) actually mean?
Frappe certifies implementation partners in four tiers — Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Emerging — based on certified consultants, implementation track record, and engagement with Frappe. Tiers signal verified competence, not geography: as of late 2026 there is no US-based Gold partner, and most Gold and Silver partners operate from India and the UAE. Verify any tier claim at frappe.io/partners/list.
What certification does — and doesn't — verify
A Frappe tier is a real signal: it verifies that a company has certified consultants, has delivered implementations Frappe can see, and maintains an active relationship with the product's maker. A partner badge on a website that doesn't appear in the directory is a different kind of signal — check every claim against the list itself, not the logo.
What a tier does not verify: US accounting knowledge (sales tax nexus, payroll architecture, US GAAP conventions), contract jurisdiction, hosting and data-residency practices, or fit for your industry. Those are on your checklist, not Frappe's. As of October 2026, the Gold tier is held by firms such as Tridots Tech, New Indictrans, and Software@Work in India, and Craft Interactive and Wahni in the UAE — strong companies, none US-based. The US ERPNext market is young, and that's exactly why the evaluation criteria below matter more here than tier alone.

US-registered certified partners on Frappe's directory
Per frappe.io/partners/list as of October 2026, the US-registered entries include:
All three are legitimate options worth putting on a shortlist. Apply the nine criteria below to them the same way you'd apply them to us.
- Korecent LLP (Delaware) is listed on Frappe's partner directory. Its frappe.io profile describes it as the highest-ranked ERPNext partner in the US, a "Best US Partner 2025" awardee from Frappe Technologies, and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified. (Note: Frappe's list page and Korecent's profile page have shown different tier groupings; verify the current tier on the live directory rather than relying on any third-party claim — including this one.)
- UnifyXperts is a US-registered, Frappe-certified partner with a stated manufacturing focus, per its frappe.io profile and company site.
- Akhilam Incorporation is a US-registered partner listed on the directory, per its frappe.io profile.
ERPNova / VGTS: the hybrid model
ERPNova is a certified Frappe partner operating a hybrid structure: VGTS LLC is the US entity that signs contracts and runs stakeholder-facing work, and a 40+ engineer delivery team in Chennai does the engineering. We don't claim a tier advantage over anyone above — our positioning is the model: US contract and US-hours account leadership with offshore build economics, which is a structural choice rather than a certification level. Whether that model fits you is one of the things the criteria below are designed to test.
The majority case: offshore partners serving US clients remotely
Most Frappe partners worldwide are in India and the UAE, and many serve US clients remotely — legitimately, and often with excellent engineering. The questions to evaluate honestly are structural, not about competence: Which jurisdiction governs your contract, and could you practically enforce it? How many hours of real overlap will stakeholder sessions get? And has the team done US sales tax, US payroll architecture, and US GAAP configuration before — or will your project be their first?
The 9 evaluation criteria that actually predict success
Each criterion comes with its verification method, because a criterion you can't verify is just marketing.
A few of these deserve expansion.
Criterion 4 is the sharpest knife in the set. The right answers exist and are specific: multi-state sales tax means nexus tracking and either per-state tax templates or the official TaxJar app (we've written the full US sales tax guide); payroll tax filing lives with Gusto or ADP, never in ERPNext, with pay runs posting to the GL as journal entries (the full payroll pattern is here). A partner who says "ERPNext handles all that" has just failed the test in one sentence.
Criterion 8 is the integrity test. ERPNext genuinely doesn't do some things: it ships no US payroll tax tables, its capacity planning is coarse rather than a finite-capacity scheduler, and multi-entity eliminations are a manual journal process. A partner who volunteers those limits before you ask is advising you. One who waves them away is closing you.
Criterion 9 is your exit insurance. Open source only protects you if you actually hold the assets: your customizations in a repo you control, hosting credentials in your password manager, documentation that doesn't live in one consultant's head. Ask for this in the contract, not as a favor later.
- Verifiable certification — How to verify: Find them on frappe.io/partners/list yourself — not a badge on their site.
- Contract jurisdiction & entity — How to verify: Ask which legal entity signs and in which jurisdiction; US entity = W-9 and US courts, foreign = W-8BEN and practical unenforceability.
- Reference customers you can call — How to verify: Named companies with named contacts who'll take your phone call — not a logo wall.
- US accounting domain fluency — How to verify: Ask: "How do you handle multi-state sales tax nexus?" and "Where does payroll tax filing live?" Wrong or vague answers disqualify.
- Fixed-scope pricing transparency — How to verify: A published pricing structure and written scope before signature (ours is at /pricing).
- Timezone overlap — How to verify: Ask who attends your 10am standup, and whether stakeholder sessions happen in your business hours.
- Post-go-live support model — How to verify: Written SLA: who answers, in what hours, at what response time.
- Honest "what ERPNext won't do" conversation — How to verify: A partner who claims ERPNext does everything is selling, not advising.
- Who owns the code and the site — How to verify: Your git repo, your hosting credentials, no proprietary lock-in layer.
What questions should I ask an ERPNext partner before signing?
Ask five: Which entity signs the contract and in which jurisdiction? Can I call two named US references? How will you handle my state's sales tax and my payroll provider? What's in the fixed price and what's extra? What does ERPNext NOT do well for my industry?
Red flags, regardless of who you're talking to
- Everything is guaranteed. Guaranteed timeline, guaranteed budget, guaranteed adoption — before discovery. Real scoping produces a written scope document first.
- No written scope. If the deliverables, exclusions, and change process aren't on paper before signature, the dispute is pre-booked.
- Tier claims that don't match frappe.io. A thirty-second check. If their site says one tier and the directory says another — or nothing — ask why before signing, not after.
- "Payroll is easy." For US payroll, this sentence is disqualifying on its own. It means they haven't done it here.
- Reference-dodging. "Client confidentiality" covering every reference means there isn't one who'd take your call.
Is a Gold partner always better than a Silver or Bronze partner?
No. Tier reflects a partner's history and certified headcount with Frappe, not fit for your project. A Bronze or Silver partner with deep experience in your industry, your timezone, and US accounting can outperform a Gold partner engaging you as a small remote account. Weigh tier as one signal among nine.
The logic cuts both ways, and honestly: a high tier is real evidence of product competence and should raise your confidence. But a $5M US manufacturer is a small account to a large Gold partner on another continent, and account priority is a project-success factor no certification measures. The question isn't "who has the best badge" — it's "who will have their best people in my project's room, in my hours, with my country's accounting rules in their heads." (For the general, non-US version of this decision, see our earlier guide to choosing an ERPNext partner; this post is the US-specific layer on top of it.)
Proof — and an invitation to test the criteria on us
Criterion 3 says demand named, callable references. Here are ours:
Texas Stone Designs, a Texas stone products manufacturer, where production scheduling went from a 24-hour manual process to about 5 minutes after their ERPNext implementation. "ERPNova transformed how we run production," says CEO Micah Grant. "What used to take us a full day of manual scheduling now takes five minutes."
Mr Goli Soda, a beverage franchise business running 70 franchise locations and 45 factories, which ERPNova migrated off Odoo to ERPNext — cutting their ERP costs by roughly 80% in the process (the full migration story is here, and the case study at /customers/).
These are the kind of references the criteria demand: named companies, named executives, verifiable outcomes — not percentages conjured for a landing page. More at /customers/.
And the standing offer: audit us first. ERPNova's Free Expert Audit exists partly so you can run this exact checklist against us before spending a dollar — ask us the nexus question, the payroll question, the jurisdiction question, and request the references. If a competitor on this page answers them better for your situation, hire them. That's the deal a buyer's guide written by a contender has to offer, and we mean it.
